Wearables Theme Night
We invite you to the next Theme Night!

As an introduction, glow will hold a short talk about their smartwatch setup. Instead of using the usual apps to control their gadget, they use Termux to push and render information.
After that there will be time for lightning talks. After a break, we want to approach the topic further in a discussion round.
The theme nights are an open format to which everyone is invited.
About the Topic
Smartwatches, fitness bands or glasses with built‑in camera and AI – all of these fall under the umbrella of wearables, technology that you wear.
They offer fascinating possibilities to track your own movement and health. At the same time they are known for sending vast amounts of sensitive data to their respective manufacturers. This has led to active communities that hack firmware and apps for existing wearables or replace them entirely. There are also manufacturers that have found a niche in these communities and design devices specifically for them. Finally, there is always the option to build your own device that you cannot buy off the shelf.
This broad range of available hardware and software inspires all kinds of creative use, and that is exactly what our theme evening is about.
